Our jobs as Tech Directors go way beyond fixing servers and cracked screens. Administrators expect teachers to implement 21st Century skills in lessons, but communications from administrators don’t often engage teachers with cutting edge tools. Resources in this post and from this session show how to become a better storyteller: tutorials, social media, announcements, and more!
I struggled my first year as tech director. I couldn’t find anyone sharing what the did daily. I needed a conference session: “What tech directors do.” This is a version of that where we share ways to tell your professional story, your school’s story, teach faculty and staff 21st Century tools, and model ISTE Standards for Administrators.
Speaking of ISTE Standards, one of the most important things an administrator can do is model innovative use of technology in context. The ISTE Standard for Administrators 3C calls us to “model effective communication and collaboration among stakeholders using digital age tools.” That is totally what this session is all about!!
