So here’s that awkward moment when I talk about myself.
I try not to loudly self-promote, mostly because I find it annoying. That said, I was recorded a bunch of times at the CUE16 conference, and that’s pretty rad. If you’d like to hear what I talked about (and I talked a lot last March in Palm Springs), here are some recordings.
CUE’s description on YouTube: “Nicole Dalesio and Bill Selak inspire attendees to use photography in the classroom with Google Photo Albums, photo walks shared lesson plans, and tips and tricks for getting good pictures. If your students have access to a phone they have access to a camera, so use the tool for learning.”
Recorded at the CUE 2016 National Conference in Palm Springs, CA on March 17, 2016.

CUE’s description on YouTube: “CUE was proud to screen documentary “Underwater Dreams” at the CUE 2016 National Convention, and host robotics teacher Allan Cameron in a panel about the movie and its message. The video starts with Allan’s introduction to the film and the story behind the story. Then it jumps to a panel moderated by Jon Corippo, CUE’s Director of Academic Innovation, along with CUE members Julie Goo, Diane Main, Bill Selak [that’s me!] and Sean Williams [his flight was delayed and wasn’t there] speaking on robotics and STEAM in schools.”
Recorded in Palm Springs, CA on 3/16/2016 at the Palm Springs Convention Center.
Surveys are just the beginning in Google Forms. Create “Choose Your Own Adventure”-style stories, bring student-drive choice into lessons, stories, and movies. Hack the “Go to page based on answer” option in multiple choice questions to make Forms a fun, adaptive, and creative tool.

As a member of the CUE Communications Committee, affectionately known as the ComCom, I was invited to interview notable conference attendees. As CUE puts it, “Tom Murray speaks with Bill Selak for CUE Live! at the CUE 2016 National Conference about the Future Ready national movement. CUE partners with Future Ready and is taking the lead in Future Ready California. Future Ready is a bi-partisan non-profit about connectivity and making sure schools are able to prepare students. Topics include wifi on Mt. Everest and how schools can get more involved.”
Here are all the recordings from CUE16. Thanks to CUE for sharing these. It’s pretty EduAwesome.
